So after Tannen Contracting charged more for the job than anyone else, put my air handlers in the wrong place (cutting off my usable attic,) put the compressor in the wrong place (causing me to have to pay someone else to move it) and baked my family because they wanted a check (eventhough they were getting paid through my contractor) the best is still yet to come...
About two years after the job, a few leaks started in my attic into a hallway, my son's bedroom and a bathroom. I didn't know where they were coming from, but I soon realized that they were coming from the air conditioning handlers that these jerks had installed. When I called them about it, I was told that they would charge me to fix anything. I called several Air Conditioning companies to see what was wrong and they all told me the same thing: The AC work in the attic is "unprofessional." They showed me that the ducts were literally connected with tape and that the air handlers were so poor that they were leaking and that the leaks would only get worse unless I installed better air handlers.
I PAID SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS TO UNDO WHAT TANNEN HAD DONE TWO YEARS EARLIER. What lowlife, scumbags. They are the worst company in the world. This story is not over.

Tannen Contracting is the WORST Air Conditioning Company
So to recap, Tannen charged more (almost twice as much) than anyone, installed my air handlers in the wrong place (cutting off my attic,) installed the air compressor in the wrong place and would not fix anything. I had to spend over $7,000 just to replace their defective air handlers less than two years after they put them in. The fun was just starting.
These guys are such thieves and liars.
The problem was exacerbated at the time of installation when temperatures were over 90 degrees. Tannen had basically completed the job and I had two children (under the age of three) in my house and we were essentially baking for several days. I called Tannen and asked if the system was complete and could finally be turned on so that we could breathe. They responded that I needed to give them a check! As soon as I paid them, they turned the Air Conditioning on immediately! They baked me and my family because they wanted to get paid! Remember that my contractor was paying them, so that any issue with payment should have gone through them, but this just shows what lowlife, scumbags Tannen Contracting is made of. I can't imagine how anyone would use them for any Air Conditioning job anywhere.

Tannen Contracting screwed me over
After Tannen Contracting put the air handlers in the wrong place in my attic, they put the compressor unit in the wrong place. My village requires the compressors in the back of and not the side of the house. After he installed them , I couldn't get a Certificate of Occupancy because of the AC compressors and I was fined by by mr village. When I called Tannen, he told me he would charge me to move them. Keep in mind that he lives about two miles from me. It was their job to know where teh compressors can be placed, not mine. They are such thieves. More tommorow.

Tannen Contracting is the WORST
After I refused to pay his exorbitant additional fee, I told Mr. Tannenbaum that I wanted the massive air handlers installed in a certain part of the attic. They then proceeded to put them in the worst possible position possible, cutting off half of my usable space.
When I told them that they were in the wrong place, they told me it was too late.
I cannot imagine a more unprofessional, pathetic Air Conditioning Company in teh five twons, Long Island, or anywhere else. The problems were only begining. More on Monday.

Tannen Contracting is the WORST
Welcome to my new blog about the worst Air Conditioning company in the world: Tannen Contracting. This blog is being started so that all of the people who, like me, have had atrocious experiences with these thieves, can all come together and share stories.
My terrible experience with Tannen happened when my contractor chose this horrible company to add one zone when I expanded my home. The problems started the next day when the owner, Mr. Tannenbaum, called me and said that the "standard" job would run about $12,000 and the "better" job would cost about $18,000-$20,000. My contractor would cover the $12,000, but if I wanted the better job, with intakes in every room, I would have to put up the additional $6,000 to $8,000.
To put this in perspective, most Air Conditioning contractors in Long Island were quoting about $12,000 to install a new, TWO ZONE Air Conditioning system. Tannen's price was absurdly high for one zone. I didn't care about the $12,000 because it was coming out of my contractor's end, but I told him I was not going to pay any extra.
He then proceeded to do an unprofessional, horrible job. I'll explain more tomorrow.
